Post 42- Ella Fitzgerald

I love Ella Fitzgerald and its very sad to see such and amazing person go away from this world. 16 years ago on this day Ella passed due to Diabetes mellitus. She was truly the Lady and Queen of jazz. She was born in Newport, Virginia but later moved to Yonkers,Newyork. She always loved music as she grew up. Her mom died of a Heart Attack in 1932. After her Mom died she often skipped school and was abused by her step-father. She then went with her Aunt but got into gangs and the authorities caught up with her and took her to an orphanage. Then she went to New York Training School for Girls in Hudson, New York, because the orphanage was to crowded. She later escaped and was homeless for a little while. She made her break by singing at the Apollo Theater on  "Amateur Nights" an won. From there on she was amazing and well known. She had a very hard childhood and still, she became a jazz icon. She and Louis have become my inspirations in jazz. She had a talent that was to natural and so real. She had the hardest childhood, had no lessons in dance or singing and she just had it!She was pure talent and pure awesomeness. I and the world are going to miss her smile and her smooth jazz like personality. I will forever miss her but her voice will go on forever in her music. Today in honor of Lady Ella my quotes will be from her.

"It isn't where you came from, its where you're going that counts."-Ella Fitzgerald

"Just don't give up trying to do what you really want to do. Where there is love and inspiration, I don't think you can go wrong."-Ella Fitzgerald

"The only thing better than singing is more singing."-Ella Fitzgerald
