Post 37- Happy birthday Judy!

Judy Garland was one of the best actresses out there. She has received so many awards and has been honored so many times it isn't funny. She was an American actress and singer.  She was born in Grand Rapids, Minnesota, on June 10th,1922. Her original birth name was Frances Ethel Gumm ,but later with  getting famous, changed it to Judy Garland. Her parents were vaudevillians and ran a movie theater while also putting on vaudevillian acts. She performed through her childhood until she was 12 or 13 years old with her two older sisters as the Gumm Sisters. The Gumm sisters did a couple movies and toured a lot until Judy without a screen test got signed at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. She was a very different girl from the other girls. In 1935 it was the glamorous look not the girl-next-door look. So it was difficult for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer and for her. She acted in a couple movies and did radio shows until The Wizard of Oz came along and that was it she was perfect from then on. Everyone loved her voice and she was the new look. People have admired her ever since the Wizard of Oz. I love her so much. She is awesome and has inspired me and lots of other youth set out their dream and to go for it no matter what. She was so different for that period. She went to school with Elizabeth Taylor and lots of other famous girls who were tall and skinny and she was often the odd one and called the Ugly Duckling, but she kept through it and became famous. She is known for singing Somewhere over the Rainbow and I love that scene to death but my Absolute Favorite Movie that she acted in was Meet Me in Saint Louis! I love her so much in that movie. She is a wonderful singer and actress and I love her. HAPPY BIRTHDAY JUDY!!!!!!!!!!!! So since today is her birthday my quote will be from her.

Always be a first-rate version of yourself, instead of a second-rate version of somebody else.-Judy Garland
