post 36- Jacob Lawrence

Jacob Lawrence is well, Amazing! I'm sorry there is no other way to start off this most than with his's amazing! HIS IS AMAZING!!!!!!! I'm sorry just wanted to get this into your head anyway. Today is the 12th anniversary of his death. He was one of the most influential people during the 20th century. He showed the normal white American what it was like to be an African American and what it was like to live in Harlem. He also showed what its like to migrate. He was born and raised in Atlantic city, New Jersey till he was 13 and then moved to New York City. His Mom enrolled him in classes at an arts and crafts settlement house in Harlem to keep him busy. There he started to realize his passion. From there on,he drew and painted his whole life and in his paintings he showed how the African American lived and his perspective of the world around him. He went on to teach and become a great artist. He inspires me so much. He painted the world around him and for any artist that's what they want to do and so do I. So today my quote will be from him.

Post 35-Happy World Oceans Day!!!!!!!!

Today is very special day. Today is World Oceans Day. Now I've always been a life for respecting our land but I haven't talked about our waters. I remember in 2009 when that big oil spill happened and it just made my heart melt when I saw how the ocean looked with all the oil in it and the dead Seagulls. Ever since then I have also took in consideration to not put stuff in rivers,lakes,streams and oceans. World Ocean day is an yearly event on June 8 that was made to raise awareness and raise money toward ocean animals and to get the word out to protect our oceans not destroy it because the world need water and animals to survive. If oceans go away so do we!So today as more than 400 hundred events happen in 70 different countries my quotes today are going to be about keeping our ocean Protected and clean!

Post 34--Murder of James Byrd, Jr.

13 years ago a very sad and cruel thing happened in the world that changed America. The Murder of James Byrd, Jr. On that day june 7th,1998 three men did something so crucial. They killed James by beating him and torturing him and then tying him to the back of their pick up truck and dragging him across asphalt for three miles. And all just because he was black. The three white men that did this are  Shawn Berry, Lawrence Brewer, and John King. Because of this horrible murder there was an act made called the Matthew Shepard and James Byrd, Jr. Hate Crimes Prevention Act. The act expands the 1969 United States federal hate-crime law to include crimes done because of the victims gender,color, sexual orientation,ETC.Because of this murder it is one of the many racial crimes that America will remember in history. Post 33- Patrick Henry

213 years ago Patrick Henry died. He was one of many politicians that influenced and fought for Americas independence. He believed in taxation without representations and was a very strong republican. He wanted freedom and he wanted it badly. He has a famous speech that will be remembered in history forever. He helped our freedom be by what he said. He inspired so many people with this speech to go fight against the Stamp Act of 1765. I wish he was alive again because now (lots of people don't know or realize this) but we have the same problem here in America. Do we really know where our taxes are going? He has inspired me to fight for freedom just like he did for others 200 years ago. There was something in that speech that inspired people the most. Those words made it so clear how much he wanted independence and today that is the quote of the day from Patrick Henry.

Post 32-Steve Jobs

Steve Jobs changed the world forever. He was born February 24, 1955 in San Francisco, California. He was adopted after his parents couldn't raise him because his girlfriends family didn't like the relationship. They couldn't get married and the moms family was not going to let them keep steve his parents had to put him up for adoption. He was then adopted by Paul and Clara jobs. He had a pretty normal childhood. As a child he was exceptionally smart. He didn't like to study and didn't but when that test came he got a perfect score every time. As a child he also loved to take stuff apart such as televisions and radios and put them back together. He had this hobby called  technical tinkering. He was very in to technology and loved to invent. He was very successful in technology as we all know. But he was a person that had this dream. A dream like no other to have a computer that did everything for you. A computer that every one could use and if it wasn't for him we wouldn't be in our first technology generation and have our world so globalized without him! He made this world get together and be connected as one using his ideas of having a home computer and creating MAC. He inspires me to think your idea and not only think about it but bring that idea, dream, or invention to world no matter how hard it takes.So today my quote will be from him.
